WiMAX in Germania grazie a Motorola, in Italia invece?
Neckarcom is not the first to provide WiMAX services in Germany. Arcor started in December 2005 in Kaiserslautern, deploying Siemens equipment. And DBD (Deutsche Breitband Dienste, using the brand MAXXonair in cities and DSLonair in rural regions) also launched its services back in November/December 2005 in Berlin, which was followed by other major cities such as Dresden and Leipzig and some villages in 2006. DBD uses Airspan Technology. BTW: CEO of DBD is a guy named Fabio Zoffi from Venezia…
Hello Flora
You saying that from 2005 in Germany, there are working wimax net?
Ciao admin,
the first deployments by DBD and Arcor that were launched in 2005 and 2006 used 3.5 GHz WLL licenses and Wimax technology. The BWA licences have been auctioned in December 2006 for ~50 Million Euros. Neckarcom _seems_ to be the first to deploy WiMAX using one of these licenses purchased by auction through Inquam Broadband.
Three companies emerged with national licenses (Clearwire, DBD, Inquam Broadband), two with regional licenses (Televersa online, MGM). MGM Productions Group S.R.L is of Italian origin. Iit is said, that its venture capitalists. Do you have any information on them?
Germany’s WiMAX has an interesting Italian touch: the DBD CEO is from Venice, one of the licensees seems to be from Milano or Rome and Siemens’ WiMAX technology is being developed (and produced?) in Italy.
mmmm i not have any news about this!!!
50 milion Euro for licenses, my good!!! Expansive!!
Between some week we will have sure news on the Wimax Italian situation, so the auctions will be start in the end of this mounth,
I hope.
P.S. escuse me for my bad english.

Oo
Hi,
Arcor wimax network is based on Siemens 802.16-d technology (named WayMAX@dvantage), engineered, developed and manufactured in Italy, near Milan.
Other networks worldwide have same technology, eg. Colombia’s operator Orbitel, which lauched wimax services last year and now has a net with 30000 paying customers…
it’s a very good news!!!!
thanks!!
